Kan
The simple meaning of the word Kan is straw
i.e. using any vowel like a straw. Simply touching the next or previous vowel
of the main vowel is called particle (Kan). This note is used to decorate and
embellish musical compositions. This is also called touch note or grace note.
Such notes can be sung and played comfortably only when the hands on the
instrument are ready and the throat is ready. Particle (Kan) vowels are mainly
of two types:-

Pre-Lagan particle (Kan):-
This particle (Kan) vowel is used before the
root vowel. It is written on the left side of the root note, like .
(2) Attachment particle (Kan):-
This particle (Kan) vowel is used after the
original vowel. It is written on the right side of the root vowel, like .
