Properties of Raag Bageshri:-

(1) According to the Ragaang method, this raga itself is a Ragaang raga.

(2) This raga has been composed by reducing the importance of 'R' and 'P' of Kafi Raga and considering 'M' as a plaintive note.

(3) The note 'R' is considered prohibited in the ascent of this raga, but sometimes 'R' is used in the ascent and comes back till 'M' like M G ऽ R G ऽ, M G R S

(4) The vowel 'P' is prohibited in ascending and 'Vakra' is used in descending like M P D G | But this rule does not hold in taunts and breaks. Let's use 'P' directly. Like Sn N D P, M G R S |

(5) This Ram has many differences regarding caste but it suits him to be a complete caste.

(6) In this raga the accompaniments of S M, D M and D G are used a lot.

(7) Bade Khayal, Chhote Khayal, Dhrupad and Tarana are sung in this raga.
