Laya
By the way, in our
life, there is definitely some rhythm (Laya))
in walking, speaking, etc., and the same speed is also maintained in it, and
whenever there is singing or playing, its speed or speed remains the same. In
music, this same movement is called rhythm (Laya). There are three types of rhythm (Laya).
(1) Delayed rhythm
(Vilambit Laya): When the rhythm (Laya) is slow, it is called delayed rhythm (Laya),
in this rhythm
(Laya) Bade Khayal, Dhrupad, Dhamar, Masit Khani Gaten Ek Taal,
Tilwada, Jhumra etc. are sung in Taals.
(2) Madhya Laya: The rhythm (Laya) which is neither slow
nor fast is called Madhya Laya. We can compare it with the ticking of a clock.
Small khayals, bhajans, songs etc. are sung in this rhythm (Laya).
(3) Fast rhythm (Drut Laya): When the speed of middle rhythm (Laya) is doubled, it is called
fast rhythm
(Laya). Small thoughts, songs etc. are sung in this.
There is no strict
rule to follow these three rhythms (Laya), the singer or player can delay or
speed up any rhythm (Laya) as per his wish.
