Saptak (English)

Saptak

When all the seven pure notes are arranged in order, then their group is called Saptak. Their names are S, R, G, M, P, D, N in order. As the vowels (Swar) go on increasing in sequence, their number of movements will also increase. As R is higher than S, G is higher than R. So an octave (Saptak) is formed from S to N like this. In this way there can be many octaves (Saptak), but virtuous people have considered three octaves (Saptak) according to the human voice.

1. Madhya Saptak:- The Saptak in which more is always sung is the Madhya Saptak. This is the octave (Saptak),  between the two octaves (Saptak),. In this octave (Saptak),, the sound is neither too high nor too low. According to the swaralipi, there is no symbol on the vowels (Swar) of this octave (Saptak),.

2. Mandra Saptak:- The octave (Saptak),  before the Madhya Saptak is the Mandra Saptak. The number of movements of this Saptak is half of that of Madhya Saptak, like if the number of movements of Madhya S is 240 then Mandra S will be 120. The sound of the voices of this octave is heavy and serious. According to the swarlipi, there is a dot below the vowels of this octave. like

3. Tar Saptak:- The octave (Saptak) after the middle octave (Saptak) is Tar Saptak. The number of movements of the notes of this octave (Saptak) is twice as high as the notes of the middle octave. For example, the movement number of the middle S is 240, then that of the Tar S number is 480. The voices of this octave (Saptak) are loud and sharp. According to the swaralipi, there is a dot on the vowels of this octave. like
