Shruti
sound
that is musically useful, distinctly audible to the ear, and distinguishable
from one another is called Shruti. That's why 'shruyate iti shruti' means the
sound that is heard is shruti, this definition is seems to correct. It doesn't
seem because there are many other voices but that is not Shruti.
According
to the verse of “Chatushchatushchatushchav (Shadj) MadhyamPanchma”, there are
4-4 Shrutis of S, M, P and G & Ni have 2-2 and Re and Dha have 3-3 Shrutis.
According to the ancient Shruti division, pure vowels were placed on the last
Shruti And according to the modern Shruti division, pure vowels are placed on
the first Shruti.
The
authors have considered 22 Shrutis in one Saptak. All Shrutis are (Naad) sounds
but not all sounds are Shrutis.
